Heath Ledger RIP
Heath Ledger's was found dead in his New York apartment on Tuesday the 22nd January 2008.
Born Heathcliff Andrew Ledger, April 4, 1979 in Perth, Australia, Heath Ledger was one of the most talented young actors to emerge in recent years.
After leaving school at 16, he acted in various tv roles before moving on to his first film roles in 1997, appearing in Blackrock and Paws.
He started to capture international attention when he starred in the 1999 teen comedy 10 Things I Hate About You and had a leading role in the acclaimed Australian movie Two Hands.
From 2000, the young actor's career rose from strength to strength, with a string of major roles in films including The Patriot (2000), A Knight's Tale (2001), Monster's Ball (2001), Ned Kelly (2003) and Brokeback Mountain (2005).
He received an Oscar nomination for his role as a gay cowboy in Ang Lee’s Brokeback Mountain only to miss out to Philip Seymour Hoffman for his portrayal of Truman Capote.
But he will be remembered for his film roles and after establishing himself as one of Hollywood's finest actors under 30, Ledger's life has ended just as his talent was beginning to be fulfilled.
