Global Health Alliance Western Australia (GHAWA)

As you may (or may not) know I am a lecturer from Notre Dame University Fremantle, Western Australia, and I am will be accompanying 25 nursing students across Perth who has been selected to travel to Tanzania in November. I will be supervising a 2 week practicum in Dar Es Salaam in both a public and private hospitals as well as visiting some of the community clinics rurally. As a group we are hoping to raise money to go towards painting one of the local schools as well as purchasing solar panels to supply the school with power. We would really appreciate any support that you could provide no matter how small, it will go some way to achieve our goal to improve the lives of these people.

GHAWA is a partnership for transcultural health improvement, including a specific intent to assist developing countries in promoting maternal and child health through enhanced capability and capacity in the nursing and midwifery workforce.

GHAWA brings together the 5 universities in Perth - Curtin University, Edith Cowan University, Murdoch University, The University of Notre Dame and the University of Western Australia, working in collaboration with the Department of Health, Western Australia and health service providers within the state.
